Real talk…
Sometimes, what we know to be true doesn’t always feel true.
What do we do when we know we are free in our head, but we still feel bound? We can feel bound by our circumstances; bound by our self-view, our hurts, our pain, our struggles. When we still feel like there is no way out…WHAT DO WE DO?

I was listening to a beautiful song by Gospel artist, Tamela Mann, entitled, “Take Me to the King.” In this song, the artist expresses her despair and wants to sit at the throne of God, to lay her issues before Him. She speaks of being “all churched out.” It’s not hard to feel down and tied up by our life’s issues. Unemployment, financial difficulty, sickness, depression, fear, constant worry all take their toll on our conscious thoughts. We over-medicate, over-inform, over-stimulate and overwhelm our senses trying to find that one place or that one thing, or that one person that can ease the struggle for us.
Let me encourage you today. We can try to fake being free by putting on a brave face, but real freedom comes from submission to God. In everything we do and everything we are, we must commit our ways to Him…lay ourselves on His altar of mercy, always. In doing this, we develop the skill of letting go of those things that bind us and keep us from true freedom. It takes practice. It takes a dedicated heart. It takes courage.
Psalm 30:5 (Amplified) says, “For His anger is but for a moment, but His favor is for a lifetime or in His favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
Be comforted in the words, “but joy comes in the morning.” No matter what you are dealing with, whether it is threatening your life or your loved ones, God has promised us that if we believe and trust in Him…”no weapon formed against you will prosper” (Isa. 54: 17 – Amplified). He also encourages us by letting us know that “His favor is for a lifetime.” Whatever it is that keeps you from receiving His freedom in your life, choose to let it go and let the God of Salvation, the Alpha and Omega, El Shaddai (The All Sufficient One), the Lover of Your Soul…God Almighty, comfort you and ease your pain. And in letting go of your bondage, receive, my dear friend, His life of freedom.
Until next post…Blessings,
