Exceedingly, abundantly above.
Three of the most beautiful words in the world.
Three of the most powerful words in the scriptures.
Ephesians 3:20 (New King James Version) says:
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Imagine it.
Everything you desire, all the things you pray for and, each hope you wait to see come to pass, is nowhere near as amazing as what the Lord has for you. That completely excites me! So much so, I looked up the words individually.
Exceedingly; in the World English Dictionary, means:
— adv., to a very great or unusual degree; extremely; exceptionally.
Abundantly; in the World English Dictionary, means:
— adv., 1. very: 2. plentifully; in abundance.
Above; again from the World English Dictionary, means:
— adv., 1. in, at, or to a higher place. 2. higher in rank, authority, or power. 3. higher in quantity or number. 4. in or to heaven.
God will do something very great or unusual, plentifully-in higher quantity or number for us if we trust Him and His Word. And His Word speaks to us that He will do EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY ABOVE…anything we could ask Him for, or think about wanting or needing.
Think about this…our greatest thought or desire is His lowest ability, and His greatest ability is something we can’t even wrap our brains around. Remember, His ways not our ways…His ways are higher. When you look at it like that, wouldn’t it make more sense to want and ask for whatever HE wants or desires for us?
His best for us can and will completely astound us. That’s what I want from Him…His best. I want to be astounded by whatever He gives me. How about you?
And…in being astounded, I will acknowledge His greatness and be completely grateful. Always. Won’t you?
He is the God of our everything, of our today, tomorrow and our forever. When we go before Him, let’s seek what He wants for us. Let’s receive from Him with an open heart, which is the power that works in us…our submission; then, give Him thanks. Let His exceeding abundance astound you!
During this holiday season let’s remember to:
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”
Psalm 100:4
(NKJV)
Let’s be thankful for everything we already have and trust God to manifest His best for us by giving us exceedingly, abundantly above any desire or request we ask of Him. And we will never be disappointed.
Until next post…Blessings,

Wow what a full meal deal! You’re right I can’t wrap my brain around His greatness but I will give up my ways for His. Thanks for the Word VW
