Listen…

Standing on the threshold of a door, waiting for the sound to beckon me in…I closed my eyes and listened.

What I heard from the other side was something that changed me, moved me, and stilled my heart.

“I love you,” God said.

Not knowing whether to cross into the room or stand there I didn’t move and remained speechless for a moment.

Then I asked, “Why me?”

His Voice said simply, “Because I want to.”

I fought being afraid and lifted myself to go in.  Upon entering, the warmth of His presence overtook me, and then I had a feeling of acceptance, of belonging.

“I’m not sure I deserve it.” I said.

“I have made you deserving by my Grace,” His Voice said.

“But how?” I asked.

His Eyes looked deep into mine as He said, “By becoming what you could not live with.”

“What could I not live with?” I asked.

“My judgment upon your sin,” was His reply.

“Now, come,” said His Voice, whose sound resonated inside my very being.

“May I stay?” I asked, wanting to be in His presence more than anything in my life.

“Come.” The Voice of God invited me in.

“What do you want in return?” I asked.

God answered, “That you receive my love, become transformed by it and share it with others.”

As I received His Words…I was set free. (VW1)

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  2 Cor. 12:9 (NIV)

Until next post,
