Winter has been long.
That’s all, I want to say about it.
I am so excited about a new spring season coming. Spring always brings newness…new life, new hopes, new weather! But not only does spring remind us of rebirth, it ushers in the time of year when we reflect on death. Jesus’ death…on the cross. Though we remember His supreme sacrifice, we must also remember why He did it. If we lose His motives for dying in only remembering the dying itself, we severely minimize His Sovereign effort.
Ecclesiastes 3 speaks of time and that there is a time for everything. In Ecclesiastes 3:11, the Word says:
God’s motivation for sacrificing His Only Son was…US. Me, you, whoever will believe that His actions on that cross were for bringing us back into the light of His Presence. It was our salvation that was at stake, not His. When we remember His death, let us be even more mindful of His rising from the dead with the absolute power and authority of everything that held us bound to fail…especially death.
It was for our benefit that He went to the cross. OUR BENEFIT. Never forget. Whenever we remember His pain, we must remember His great love. Nothing is more significant to Him than our receipt of His love for us.
This season of new life and resurrection should be our cue to renew our commitment to Him Who Loved Us First. As we remember His sacrifice, let us submit ourselves, more deeply, to His Love.
He is risen. He is waiting. Take His Hand and renew your love for Him.
Have a wonderful Easter/Resurrection Sunday.
Until next post,
