Jesus came that we may have life…life abundantly. That’s a huge statement. What does it mean to us?
First and foremost, it means that Jesus set the example of what living a fear-free life can be. He stayed open to listening to what was in His heart. He cultivated His faith, or confidence, in who He was and in what He was called to do. He maintained an intimate relationship with His Father, Our Heavenly Father and stood on all of the promises given to Him and now to us in the Word of God. Though Jesus was the “Word made flesh,” he exemplified what we need to do to live like He did while he inhabited an earthly body.
Secondly, Jesus left instructions for us that we could follow…a sort of “manual for the living challenged”…like me. It is called the Holy Bible. In it we can find blueprints; proven methods for taking authority over worry, depression, fear and any other evil thing that tries to invade our thoughts and change our behaviors so that we are not operating in love and faith, but in fear and doubt.
Finding these blueprints isn’t always as easy as it would seem, especially if you respond to life out of your emotions and perceptions. But have hope…starting with small steps, taking one revelation at a time and making it part of your daily experience, you will begin to build a foundation of love and freedom in your life that will change who you are and how you live.
Try This:
Meditate on the following scripture, trust it’s power and take it into your heart and watch God expand your vision of yourself and your life:
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.”
2 Timothy 1:7 (Amplified Version)
Until next post…Blessings.
