Let’s talk about some good stuff today. I know. Things have been crazy. Out. Of. Control. I know. I’m living in it too. But today, let’s think about something joyful…something good. I’m going to share something simple but powerful that totally brightened my day and I pray it will yours as well.
I know you’re probably viewing this on your phone, so I’m going to ask you to close all the apps that usually send you bad news-and just focus on this for a few minutes. Deal?

Ok. Usually when I get up in the morning I take stock in what is going on for the day. First, because I am of a certain age, I check to see that everything is moving the way it should and there is no unexplained ache or pain…(keep living, it’s a thing). Then I get out of bed, stand up and begin to assess what I have to do in the next 8 to 12 hours. Typically this is when anxiety and stress wake up in my mind and attach themselves to my thoughts. Today, I did something different…very different for me. Instead of beginning my awaking with fear about what the day may hold, I deliberately spoke the words, “God is good.” I said it again, out loud so me and the devil could hear it. “God IS Good.” Once again, the words sounded in my ears. And then, I decided to say it one more time. “God IS Good.” Yes, at first I felt silly, and even said it the first time very, very softly so no one would hear me. But the second time I said it a little louder and felt slightly liberated. By the third time saying it, a conviction came over me. God IS good. Today. Right Now. In the middle of crazy, and sleepy, and stressful and fretful and overwhelmed…He IS good. I let myself stand by my bed and release the reality of that truth into my heart and atmosphere as I spoke it out loud again and again. And here’s what happened next…
I stopped thinking with anxiety and concern and began to see that God is not only good, but He is WITH me. Everything I will do or see or hear today, I will experience WITH God right beside me, guiding me and directing my path according to His goodness, as I allow Him to (note: this is an act of our will towards God). Even the bad things that may happen will be secondary to His goodness towards me. And because of that, I have and you have a promise that the outcome will be a victory for us!
Let’s take a minute now and tomorrow and the next day, and so on, and consciously remind ourselves that God is good and He ALWAYS intends good toward us and for us. During your day, just say out loud to yourself, “God IS good.” Seriously, try it and see how it elevates you out of fear, in your heart and your mind. It made the difference for me today and my prayer is that it will make the difference for you.
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (The Living Bible)
“And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.” – Romans 8:28 (The Living Bible)
Until next post, blessings. vw1.
All the time!
