“…How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things…” (Romans 10:15)
Beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder.
But, in the case of the feet of those that take the word of God to the people…their beauty is not necessarily physical, but spiritual.
Feet that have labored in the fields, a suitable metaphor for walking out the gospel of Christ in everyday life, are weather-beaten, calloused and worn. Tried by fire and sharpened by iron (As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17- NKJV), the feet of the Believer have been calloused to the effects of the world and seek out those who are ripe for receiving the good news of the Gospel of Christ. It costs these lovely souls something to sacrifice the world’s standard to live according to the Word of God…but they are not moved by circumstances, situations or the opinions of others. They are dedicated to the revelation of God and His relationship with them. It is their life’s purpose.
The beauty of these believers’ feet are seen and blessed by the Master-God Almighty, who created them for His service. In His eyes, feet that serve on behalf of His purpose are truly beautiful.
In this new year, as we walk out our walk of faith before God and each other and begin to attract those who are yet waiting to know Him, let’s remember that our true journey’s goal is to bring the Gospel, the Good News of our Savior, to all who will receive Him.
Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year…Blessings, as always.
