Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

I have an older home in the midwest that has a peculiar but lovely attached room on the back of the house. We refer to this room as the “Sun Room.” It is enclosed by 3 walls of double glazed window doors with screens.

I love going out to this room. I can sit in my chair for hours watching nature at it’s best. The view is almost 360 degrees of a lush green canopy of tall trees. Backyards of soft green grass and a symphony of birds, squirrels, rabbits and other lovely animals, tending to their business unaware of my relaxed gaze.

I sit in this room to reset and rewind. The joy I get from putting down my phone, reclining in the patio chair and sipping on a cool glass of herbal iced tea, while looking out the windows at the beauty of nature, is indescribable.

It may not be much to some…but this quiet retreat always promises a few minutes of joy in my often hectic life.
